Introduction

We take privacy seriously, and that is why we are making Adapt Retail transparent concerning the applications user data tracking and storing as easy as possible for our account users. The Adapt Retail applications user data is fully controlled by the account user, and can be deleted, or made anonymous in some particular cases. Creatives (e.g. display banners) made and/or hosted in the application does not track any user data, nor does it use any form of cookies. We do have some services that aggregate impressions and interactions for reporting and invoicing, but none of which is connected to users. By default, all web browsers logs IP traffic and assets requested – and our services do as well. These request logs are deleted immediately after aggregated as above-mentioned, thus not storing any IP-addresses.

Privacy Policy

In the following sections we have made and effort of simplifying our policy regarding the collecting of user data, what we collect, why we do it. It should all be easy to understand, and we encourage our users to give us feedback if any of these sections are hard to understand, or if there is some issues we have to elaborate on.

What information is collected in the Adapt Retail Application

When signing up with a new account

  • We ask you for a main administrator e-mail address in order to register an account in the application. All users that are attached to one or more Adapt retail accounts need to set a password. It’s important to understand that passwords are not stored in our systems; only a encrypted version (digest) of the password set. Which means that, once our users have entered their passwords at sign in, we will digest their input with the same algorithm we have previously used when storing the password, and then compare both digests. As digest algorithms guarantee that two equal inputs will get equal digests (which is not true in the opposite direction), if digests match we can then consider the password input by the user as valid.
  • At any time, at least one administrator e-mail address has to be attached the account.

Information we collect from users within the application

  • Log information
    All user submitted actions in the application is logged on our servers, and the information that is stored contains user identification number, action details and a timestamp on when the action was done.
  • Web Browser Local storage
    We collect and store information locally on a users browser for certain preferences in the user interface. This information is not stored on the servers, and can be deleted by clearing the browser cache.
  • Web Browser Cookies
    We collect and store information using web browser cookies in relation to user sessions after authentication.

Opting out and delete information

  • Most of the cookies that are defined are necessary for the Adapt Retail application to function correctly and cannot be switched off. The cookies are usually set when logging into the application, and cleared once the user logs out. None of the information in these cookies are personally identifiable.
  • If you wish to have a full insight on what cookies store, tools built into most desktop web browser (ex. Google Chrome) that clearly give this information. You can clear, block and set alerts about cookie changes in your browser.
  • Data and information collected using cookies is purged after a user is logged out or after 2 hours of inactivity from use of the application.
  • Upon request we can provide a full report and / or delete all user attached information within one week from the time of the request. How we use the information collected

The amount of user information collected are at a minimum. We collect this information to run and improve further development to the Adapt Retail application. The data collected is used in the following ways:

When signing up with a new account

A e-mail address is used for authenticating the user in combination with a user created password. The e-mail address is also used to communicating with user in relation to problem solving, feedback and other application issues. It might also be used to promote new features and updates.

Information we collect from users within the application

  • Log information
    All actions which would explain the creation, change or deletion of elements inside the application is logged to keep history (change log) for the account as a whole. It’s main purpose is to have a overview of activities within the platform for the account users, but also for developers of the application to correct and follow up errors and wrongdoings.
  • Web Browser Local storage
    We use local storage as a place to store local user preferences in the application user interface; e.g. “Keep side panel closed”.
  • Web Browser Cookies
    To persist a users account login state, we use web browser cookies for user sessions. These cookies are for the Adapt Retail application usage ONLY, and will never be included or used in relation to the creatives made in the application. (e.g. display banners will NOT use cookies).

Data collected by serving Ads from the Adapt Retail application

In addition to create content, the application have the option of serving content. This is done through a safe SSL connection (The URLs are served through HTTPS) from our Content Delivery Network (CDN) service.

We currently use CDN services from Amazon CloudFront, and any content that is shared publicly from our application is served through this CDN and served by the domain / subdomain:

  • cdn.adaptretail.com

All ad impressions (e.g. every time an banner is being shown in the browser) and all interactions (e.g. swipes and clicks) are logged and aggregated to make reports for optimizing campaigns and marketing decisions. All data collected is 100% anonymous and contains non-personal identification information only. The information that is collected is the following:

  • Date and Time
  • Production identification (e.g. the ID of a banner)
  • Browser Width and Height in pixels.
  • Random generated impression ID (e.g. when banner is shown, this ID is also sent to the tracking server upon interactions. The life cycle of this ID is purged when banner is not visible anymore).

And tracking and collecting data is being done by the following domains / sub domains:

  • *.amazonaws.com
  • tracker.adaptretail.com

Opting out and delete information

  • Banner Ads from Adapt Retail do not place any Browser Cookies or make use of Local Storage.

Data that is NOT collected by serving Ads from the Adapt Retail application

We do not collect any data consisting of racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation. Ads that are served do not place any cookies. We do not collect any contact information, such as names, passwords, phone numbers and addresses from ad serving.

Information we share

We do not share any personally identifiable information (PII) externally without the consent of the account administrator user(s).

Information we share with our application users

Within the application, all other active account users can see logs of operations (actions such as creation, change or deletion of elements inside the application, in addition to the use of the REST API operations where users are authenticated by matched tokens).

Information we share with our employees

To maintain, secure, develop and provide support, our employees needs access to most of the application users data. As previously documented; we do not store user passwords. All our employees operates under contract and agreement that includes strict confidentiality.

Information we share with 3rd-Party Services

We may share aggregated information of Adapt Retail application, such as average usage statistics and account trends, but we do not share personally identifiable information.

 

Data Retention

We retain personally identifiable data (PII) and strictly necessary cookies, which are directly collected for purposes of authentication of our account users for login and account purposes, from the user’s last interaction with our application, after which time we de-identify the data by removing unique identifiers or aggregating the data.

Data and information collected using personally identifiable information (PII) in the session cookies is purged after a user is logged out or after 2 hours of inactivity from use of the application.

Users right of processing and deleting personal information

You have the right to request access to, rectification of, deletion of, and restriction of processing of your personal data. You have the right to opt out from all information email content from the Adapt Retail application. Being a registered application user, you have at any times the right to withdraw the consent given for processing your personal data.

We reserve the right to make changes in this Privacy Policy in its full or certain parts at any time. If we do, we will inform each affected Adapt Retail application user by email shortly after implemented.
